Canottieri Napoli was downed by Oradea with double wins, while Posillipo couldn’t recover from the three-goal defeat suffered at home in the first leg and even though they could beat Jadran in the rematch, the aggregate score favoured the Montenegrins.
Italy’s pride was saved by Verona which ousted BVSC-Zuglo (HUN) by winning away and home. The triumphant march of the sides coming from the Champions League qualifications was halted by Ferencvaros (HUN) which beat Primorje (CRO) by four goals in both their encounters.
